Episode #009: “Here, Have a Fish”

December 25th, 2008 Comments off

Merry Xmas!

This podcast is a lengthy wrap-up of the games that stood out to us in 2008, as well as looking back on them and seeing how they have handled a little aging. We also tangent away and so this episode is over an hour long.

I’ll forego the usual item list as I am away from my notes at my parents house and need to get back to helping out with Dinner.

As a note, this podcast should have better audio now due to knowing what buttons do what on the mixer and in Audactity, but it may have awkward stammers and pauses etc due to having no time to edit through every part of the audio. As such, I apologise for our abosolute lack of eloquence.

Episode #3: “One Shot Pulse Rifle to the Head”

November 15th, 2008 Comments off

In this horrifyingly long podcast (Nearly an hour!) we waffle on about our love of the Advance Wars series, and wrap up our thoughts on Fallout 3 before Lich King swallows us whole. We also bumble on about two other games that are now irrelevent to me as my PS3 is bricked. (Mirrors Edge and Valkyria Chronicles.)

Seriously, what the hell?

We did not talk about neotanks nearly enough in the show, so here are some to make up for it.

Fallout 3 spoilers start a while into the podcast, and end at around the 11 minute mark. We start talking about 12 minutes in, Valkyria Chronicles at about 13 and a half minutes , and finally talk about advance wars around 16 minutes in.

In this podcast, we talk about:

  • The President of the Wasteland
  • Momentum and free running
  • Tanks!
  • Infantry and how we love them
  • Broken Mechanics and Tactics
  • Fumbling our way around strategy
  • Continents, discovering and conquering them
  • Sudden Red Alert 3 Hate
  • Beer Review: Wells Waggle Dance. A very nice little ditty, well worth it if you have already bought all the Bombardier.
  • Outtakes after the end!

I’ve managed to bully Audacity into telling me how to put in an outro, and so you get one. Stay tuned after the end to hear Audio problems, Blasphemy, Why you dont tug on cables, and my reaction when I found out I had to edit an HOUR LONG podcast.
