Condemned is full of flaws and I don&#039;t think I brought them up in my review. This is likely because the flaws didn&#039;t detract from my enjoyment of the game. I might also suffer from wearing rose-tinted glasses whenever I play a game where you can beat a hobo to death with a pipe. 

It sounds like you weren&#039;t that far into the game. The enemies in the first level or two aren&#039;t too bad, but eventually you&#039;ll come across a few tough ones, and they throw 2-4 at you at once. For me that was a pain in the ass, but I figured that it had more to do with my being terrible at Xbox games. 

If you don&#039;t like the CSI aspect, then there&#039;s a level near the end that I&#039;m sure you&#039;ll hate. You spend the whole level following invisible ink with you tools. It took me forever to figure it out, but I think that&#039;s because I didn&#039;t understand what I was supposed to be doing at first. The basement in that level was terrifying though. I shut the door when I was done down there, but I stood there for a few minutes just in case the hobos could open the door. 

As I mentioned in my review, the last level is kind of terrible, but I still enjoyed the game as a whole. I paid less then $15 for it and I had more fun playing it than a lot of the Xbox games I have. Fuck, I paid full price for Left 4 Dead and that was a disappointment. The other reason I go easy on it is because very few games have been able to truly frighten me. As of late, three games come to mind: Bioshock, Dead Space, and Condemned. 

The fear in all three was mostly from being afraid to fight enemies, but it was fear nonetheless. There must be more to it though because I get killed a lot playing Gears of War, but the fear of character dying is nonexistent. In the case of Bioshock and Condemned it had to do with the small amount of damage you can take before dying, but Dead Space was truly a frightening experience (especially that god damn asteroid level. I was so scared that I&#039;d never get past that stupid level).

Well, it seems that I&#039;ve written you a novela instead of a comment. Eh. You&#039;ll have to tell me what you think once you&#039;ve played more Condemned. I&#039;m pretty sure that most of the flaws are forgiven because it was a launch game, but I&#039;m sure if they made it now the same problems would be present. Look at Condemned 2. I&#039;ve only played the demo, but it was awful. It seems like the company got lucky with the timing of the release of the first game.
